AIRTEC A/S - A full circle solution in certified water treatment, humidification and paint saving systems

Electronic

Electronic devices, components and data are highly sensitive to electrostatic discharge; even small amounts of voltage can cause severe damage to electronic components.

The electrostatic discharge (ESD) occurs when the RH is low. The discharge (voltage) is different from one material to another.
To remove most problems with electrostatic discharge, the recommended level of humidity is 55% RH. The lower RH in the ambient environment, the higher the electrical charge.

Benefits from Airtec® Solutions

At an RH of 55% the conductivity of the air and of the material surface is increased to such an extent that the electrical charges can be discharged. The reason for the rapid rate of discharge at high RH is that a thin film of humidity forms on the material, making the surface sufficiently conductive to prevent charges collecting on it. As electrostatically charged surfaces also attract more dust, a constant RH also reduces particle deposits on the electronic devices.
